Ads Library: Search Each Platform's Own Ad Library

Pick an ad library and fill in what you know. You get a search link to that platform's own ad library; the results open on its site.

Ad libraries by platform

Where to find it, how to search it, and what it leaves out.

An ads library is a public, searchable record of the ads a platform runs. Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google and Microsoft each keep one, and each is searched differently. Use the search box above: pick a platform, fill in what you know, and the search opens on that platform’s own site. Below is what each ads library covers, where its limits are, and which one to open first. If Facebook and Instagram are your focus, start with our Meta Ad Library guide.

Which ads library should you open first?

Start from the question you are trying to answer, then open the ads library that holds that answer.

  • A competitor’s Facebook or Instagram ads. Open the Meta Ad Library. Meta says it covers every ad currently running on Facebook, Instagram and Meta’s other apps.
  • A B2B company’s LinkedIn campaigns. Open the LinkedIn Ads Library. Its search form takes a keyword, an advertiser, a payer, a country and a time period.
  • Ads on Google. Open Google’s Ads Transparency Center, Google’s own ads library. Our Google Ads Transparency Center page covers it.
  • TikTok ads shown in the EU. Open TikTok’s Commercial Content Library, covered on our TikTok Ads Library page.
  • What is trending in TikTok ads. Open Creative Center’s Top Ads. It ranks popular ads; it does not search by advertiser.
  • Bing ads in Europe. Open the Microsoft Ad Library, which holds ads shown in the European Economic Area.
Ad library Address How you search Notes
Meta Ad Library facebook.com/ads/library Keyword or advertiser name, filtered by country Meta says it covers every ad currently running on its apps, Instagram included
TikTok Commercial Content Library library.tiktok.com/ads Advertiser name or keyword, advertiser ID, start and end date Built for EU transparency rules
TikTok Creative Center (Top Ads) Inside TikTok Creative Center No advertiser or keyword search; you browse a ranking A ranking of popular ads, not a transparency search
LinkedIn Ad Library linkedin.com/ad-library Keyword, company or advertiser, payer, country, time period Periods: last 30 days, this month, this year, last year, or custom
Google Ads Transparency Center adstransparency.google.com Advertiser name or website, filtered by region and date, per Google’s help center Google’s 2023 launch post says it covers Search, YouTube and Display ads
Microsoft Ad Library adlibrary.ads.microsoft.com Search on Microsoft’s page; a link can’t pre-fill it Bing ads shown in the European Economic Area, from June 2023

The same idea runs through every row: an ads library is the platform’s own record, so the platform decides what goes in and what stays out. If an ads library shows nothing for a brand, check the country and dates before you decide the brand isn’t advertising.

How our ad library search box works

The search box above the platform cards turns what you know into a search address for one ads library. It does three things and nothing more.

  1. Pick the ads library. Meta, the two TikTok libraries, LinkedIn, Google and Microsoft are in the list.
  2. Fill in the fields you see. Some filters we have not verified yet are hidden for now; you can still set them in the platform’s own ads library. For Meta, the keyword and country fields worked when we tested search links for Brazil, the US, India, Germany and Mexico. For LinkedIn, we have checked the search form, but not yet how its results page applies each field.
  3. Open the link. The search opens on the platform’s own site, in a new tab. AdsLibrary.org never pulls the results onto this page.

For now, Google, Microsoft and Creative Center just get a button that opens the site. Microsoft’s ads library ignores search terms passed in the link; for Google and Creative Center, we have not checked the filters in a browser yet, so set them on their own sites. One more Microsoft tip: the old address ads.microsoft.com/info/adlibrary now lands on a page-not-found screen, so use adlibrary.ads.microsoft.com instead.

What an ads library may not tell you

An ads library is good at showing the ads themselves. History is thinner, and we have not confirmed what numbers it shows.

  • Spend and reach. We have not confirmed that the Meta Ad Library website shows spend or reach for ordinary commercial ads. Meta’s Ad Library API, the route for bulk data, only covers social issue, election and political ads from the past seven years, and any ad delivered to the UK or EU in the past year. Using the API needs a Facebook account and an identity check.
  • Ads that have ended. In our one test, a commercial ad that had ended returned no result. Meta’s ads library also has an inactive-ads filter, which we have not tested yet.
  • Every country. No single ads library covers them all. TikTok’s Commercial Content Library follows EU transparency rules, and the Microsoft Ad Library only holds ads shown in the European Economic Area.
  • Every advertiser. Creative Center’s Top Ads only ranks popular ads, so a brand you are tracking may never appear there.

Saving an ad for research

An ads library is built for viewing ads on the platform. If you need a copy of a Meta ad to study, the Facebook ad downloader has its own page. Read the usage notice before you save anything: keep copies for research and reference, and don’t run other people’s ads as your own.

About AdsLibrary.org

AdsLibrary.org is an independent guide to the ads library each platform runs: Meta, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft. The site has no accounts, no sign-up and no payments, and it does not run an ads library of its own: every search opens on the platform’s site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft, and each ads library linked here belongs to the platform that runs it.

Frequently asked questions

What is AdsLibrary.org?

AdsLibrary.org is an independent third-party site with tools and guides for public ad libraries. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft.

How do I contact AdsLibrary.org?

Email support@adslibrary.org with questions or corrections. Send takedown requests and legal notices to legal@adslibrary.org. AdsLibrary.org has no connection to Meta, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft, so we cannot change anything inside their ad libraries.

Is AdsLibrary.org free to use?

Yes. AdsLibrary.org has no accounts, no sign-up and no payments. Each ads library we link to is run by the platform on its own site.

Who is AdsLibrary.org for?

AdsLibrary.org is for anyone who wants to see the ads a brand is running: marketers checking competitors, founders looking for ad ideas, agencies preparing a pitch, and researchers. To start, you need an advertiser name or a keyword.

What is an ads library?

An ads library is a public, searchable record of ads, kept by the platform that runs them. Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google and Microsoft each have one, and they differ in what you can search and which countries they cover.

How can I see my competitors' ads on Facebook?

Use the Meta Ad Library. Open it, choose the country you care about, and type the competitor's name or a keyword. Meta says its library covers every ad currently running on Facebook, Instagram and Meta's other apps, so Instagram ads come up in the same search.

Can you see what ads competitors are running on Google?

Yes. Google's ads library is its Ads Transparency Center, at adstransparency.google.com. Google's help center says you can search by advertiser name or website name and filter the results by region and date, so start with the brand name or its domain.

Can I see how much a competitor spends on ads, or how many people saw them?

Not that we can confirm. We have not verified that any ads library shows spend or reach for ordinary commercial ads. Meta's Ad Library API, the route for bulk data, doesn't cover most of those ads either: it only covers social issue, election and political ads from the past seven years, plus any ad delivered to the UK or EU in the past year.

Why can't I find an ad I saw a few weeks ago?

Two things to check in the ads library: whether the ad is still running, and which country you searched. In our test, a commercial ad that was no longer running returned no result in the Meta Ad Library. Also check the country setting, because each ads library covers different countries: TikTok's Commercial Content Library is built for the EU, and Microsoft's covers only the European Economic Area.

Is AdsLibrary.org the same as Meta's Ad Library?

No. AdsLibrary.org is a separate site. When you pick Meta in the search box above, it sends you to Meta's own Ad Library on facebook.com, and AdsLibrary.org does not fetch, copy or store the results.

Can I download the ads I find?

For Meta ads, use the Ad downloader page in the main menu. Read its usage notice first: saved ads are for research, not for running as your own.
